The name "Shenzhen" is composed of two Chinese characters. "Shen" means "deep" while "Zhen" means "drill." The name comes from a story about an emperor who wished to conquer the southern sea. He dispatched a famous general to drill a deep hole in the area to let the sea water flow out. Shenzhen has many attractions for tourists, such as the famous Window of the World theme park, which features miniature versions of iconic landmarks from around the world. As a resident of Shenzhen, I feel incredibly proud of my hometown. It is a city that is constantly evolving, culturally rich, and full of opportunities.
